This section of greenseekergolf.com is all about playing the game. You've read the reviews, bought the kit, practised at the range and been to the putting green. Now get out there and play...

Pre-match preparation

Know your club and shot distances

Most people think they know how long they hit their shots - but they should challenge themselves to make sure they know. You will also be surprised how much difference cold or windy weather conditions make.

You can write down on a strip of masking tape or using a permanent marker pen the average distance you hit your shots with a particular golf club in average course and weather conditions.

By putting these numbers on your clubs - you can remind yourself when playing how far you really hit the ball with a club. That way when you are playing and you are confronted with a particular length shot you can use the numbers to give you a reality check.

Warm-up routine

Before you start your round it really will pay dividends to go to the range or practice nets at the club and loosen up. Developing a good warm up routine will help your game.
